The following are just a few conservation projects I've researched into protecting endangered species.

Savetherhino.org

Save the rhino is a global charity whose main aim is to protect rhinos in various countries in Africa, Indonesia and Vietnam. They mainly focus on protecting rhinos, reducing illegal horn trade, involving communities and bringing experts together.

When protecting rhinos, they ensure that their rangers have the finest kit needed for them to do their job properly. Their main work in Vietnam is trying to educate people not to buy it. Wealthy people in Vietnam are some of the main comsumers of rhino horn. If save the rhino can convince enough people that it really does not have any medicinal value, consumer demand will go down and there will be no incentive for poachers and traffickers.

savetheelephants.org

Save the Elephants is an organisation that works with numerous wildlife departments, protected area managers and communities to assist their efforts to defend elephants against ivory poachers and traffickers. They 'develop and deploy cutting edge tracking systems' to help with protecting and monitoring elephants. Through their fund called 'Elephant Crisis Fund', they have helped and supported more than 83 partners. Save the elephants have received support from such high profile people as Barack Obama, David Beckham, Leonardo DiCaprio, Richard Branson, Jackie Chan amongst many others.

Kevin Pietersen - SORAI

Kevin Pietersen, the former England cricket star, has set up an organisation for the conservation of rhinos in his native South Africa. Growing up in South Africa, Pietersen lived an outdoors lifestyle surrounded by animals and nature. Since retiring from cricket, he has thrown himself into the conservation works. He once said 'It pains me it hurts me - I want my children's children to see the things we see now and I want to save them.' In 2019, his foundation raised £162 000 for state-of-the-art technology to help prevent poaching. This technology includes thermal nighttime surveillance systems to catch poachers in the night.

Colchester Zoo

As part of Colchester Zoo's commitment to conservation, it was announced that on the 14th of October 2020, Colchester Zoo's 6th white rhino was born.
