
This graph shows a steep increase on the number of rhinos poached almost every year from 2006-2015. At its peak in 2015, 1349 elephants were killed. This is an average of over three rhinos killed every single day for a whole year. Since then, we have seen an amazing decrease in numbers which is really encouraging news.

National Geographic reports that approximately 30 000 African Elephants are killed each year leaving over 400 000 remaining.
